This program is perfect for students looking for an experience that’s more than just learning English. The program explores contemporary global issues and culture and at the same time provides an opportunity for increasing language proficiency for those who want to improve their English. Participants make new friends from around the world and engage with them in understanding more about their world. When they leave, they’ll be ready to pursue their dreams and change the world for the better!
Weekly themes include The Environment, and Contemporary Issues such as Immigration. These themes and the accompanying activities are designed specifically to increase competency, sensitivity and business knowledge in areas of global importance. During these theme-based experiences, students have an opportunity to identify personal passions and work toward designing a project they can implement in their local communities.
Let’s Go to Hollywood! A visit to California wouldn’t seem complete without a visit to the world capital of entertainment, Los Angeles. Students leave early on a Saturday morning and on the way to the City of Angels, stop for a day at Disneyland. On Sunday morning, they’ll enjoy a full day touring Hollywood, Grumman’s Chinese Theater (and the famous sidewalks), Santa Monica Pier and Beach, and much more! In the early evening, students head back to San Diego.
