The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a program by the European Union that gives young people (usually aged 18–30) the chance to volunteer, work, or do internships in projects that help communities across Europe and beyond.
Think of it as a way to travel, meet people, learn new skills, and make a difference—all while getting support like free accommodation, food, language lessons, insurance, and even some pocket money. Most projects focus on things like education, the environment, culture, social work, or helping refugees.
You don’t need to pay to join—the program covers most costs, and it’s open to all EU citizens and some partner countries.
