This short program is designed for international students with English skills from beginner to intermediate. This program will allow participants to attend English classes and practice their speaking skills through fun activities. The program will take place in a major Canadian city, either Montreal or Ottawa.
Montreal: Students will study at Vanier College, a post-secondary institution located in Montreal, Quebec.
For 4 weeks, participants will attend English lessons in the morning and explore Montreal in the afternoon through various activities.
These activities will be varied and cover a wide range of interests, including sightseeing, Canadian culture, sports, and artistic activities. Students will be supported throughout the program by the staff at Vanier College, as well as a designated staff member from AFS Canada.
Ottawa: Students will study with the Ottawa-Carleton District School board (OCDSB) at the Albert Education Centre in downtown Ottawa. For 4 weeks, participants will attend English lessons in the morning and explore Ottawa in the afternoons through various activities. These activities will be varied and cover a wide range of interests, including sightseeing, Canadian culture, sports, and artistic activities. Students will be supported throughout the program by the staff at OCDSB who will accompany students on their afternoon activities in and around Ottawa. Students will also get the chance to meet AFS volunteers at their arrival and departure orientations.
Number of hours of language study: 15-20 hours/week
